CAUTION
Risk of injury for patient and user from improper use!
Improper application as well as misuse can cause severe injuries to the patient and operator
and/or lead to premature wear of the sealing system!
Clean and sterilize marSeal 5 before each application, see section 5 "Reprocessing,

Cleaning, Disinfection and Sterilization", page 62.
A functional check must be carried out before each application, see section 5.11

"Functional Check", page 76!
When inserting the instrument into or withdrawing it from a trocar, the jaw part must be

closed!
Use the bipolar sealing system only for its intended purpose, see section 1.3 "Intended

Purpose", page 47.
There is danger of injury from the blade when inserting the blade holder!

• Avoid contact with the blade!
• Lay out the connecting cable in such a way that it touches neither the patient nor other
cables. Protect the cable against mechanical damage (squashing by trolley castors,
pinching, kinking, etc.)!
Use of high-frequency devices can interfere with other devices!
