5.9 Plunge cuts

This system performs plunge cuts without kickbacks from the machine.
Use the following procedure to perform plunge
cuts:
1.
Mark the beginning and the end of the plunge
cut on your workpiece.
2.
Place the machine with the saw unit in its
starting position at the beginning of the plunge
cut.
Make sure the saw blade is completely
retracted into the fixed blade guard.
3.
Align the machine so that the rear marking 17
on the saw unit is aligned with the beginning of
the plunge cut marked on the workpiece.
4.
Move the stop slide 7 (with the knurled screw in
the groove of the guide rail) so that the guide
rail's end facing the machine (at its full cutting
depth) is ca. 30 mm [1.18 in] behind the marked
end of the cut.
Adjust the stop slide setting if the cutting
depth is smaller. Perform test cuts if
necessary.
5.
Switch off the feed by turning the rotary switch 1
to the left until it hits the stop in position "0".
The blade guard markings 17 and 18 serve as orientation for the cutting range of the saw
blade when it is extended to the full cutting depth.
