PARTS SUPPLIED:
The following section describes the parts supplied for use
and operation of the flow diverter:
•
1 flow diverter with protective cap
•
1 wall plate
•
1 selector
•
1 rubber seal
•
1 metal bar for fixing a thermostatic tap, if required
•
2 M6 screws
2
INSTALLATION:
There are threaded holes in the body of the flow
diverter, which can be used for attaching metal brackets
(not provided) to secure the device when fitting to
prefabricated and/or plasterboard fitted walls.
In cases where there is a likelihood of frost, it is advisable
to bleed the water pipes in the home.
The following section describes the installation process
for the flow diverter:
•
DIVERTER AND SYSTEM INSTALLATION
- Make a cavity in the wall.
The size of the cavity will vary according to the type
and number of parts in the system.
- Fix the mixer onto the bracket with the 2 screws
supplied, as illustrated in Figure 3.
- Position the diverter as illustrated in Figure 3.
- Connect the diverter to the pipe coming from the
mixer, applying Teflon to the thread of the fitting and
14
tightening.
- Position all system pipes and fittings inside the cavity,
optimising the pipe routes.
- Connect the system pipes to the diverter, applying Teflon
to the thread of the fitting and tightening.
•
FLOW TEST
The flow test needs to be performed before the system is
walled in, since it is of vital importance for there to be no
leaks on any of the fittings.
Proceed as follows:
- Close the various water outlets with caps.
- Remove the protections "A" and "B" from above the
diverter, unscrewing their check screw.
- Insert the lever supplied onto the diverter, so it is possible
to select the required water source.
- Turn on the water flow from the mixer tap (if fitted) or in
any case, from the water mains.
- Turn on the diverter lever to make sure that there are
no leaks on the fittings of the various water sources. If
any leaks are found, turn off the water, disassemble the
system and apply Teflon to the threads of the fittings.
Tighten the fittings and start the flow test again.
- Remove the lever from above the diverter.
- Fit the protective caps "A" and "B" over the diverter.
- Tighten the check screw of the diverter's protective caps.
•
FIXING THE DIVERTER AND SYSTEM
- Fix the pipes in place with tabs of quick-drying cement
and leave to dry.
•
WALLING THE DIVERTER AND SYSTEM
- Fit protective caps onto the water supply fittings.
- Wall up the cavity, taking care to ensure that the base of
the protective cap on the diverter and water supply fittings
are flush with the wall, as illustrated in Figure 7.
- Wait for the mortar to harden.
