NOTICE:

missing, or loose parts such as screws, nuts, bolts, caps,
etc. Tighten securely all fasteners and caps and do not
operate this product until all missing or damaged parts
are replaced. Please contact customer service or an
authorized service center for assistance.
APPLICATIONS
You may use this product for the purpose listed below:
Breaking up garden soil to prepare seed bed for planting
Shallow cultivating to remove weeds
INSTALLING/REMOVING BATTERY
See Figure 7.
To install:
Raise the battery cover.
Align raised ribs on battery pack with grooves in the bat-
tery port and install the battery pack into the tiller.
WARNING:
Make sure the latch on the bottom of the battery pack
snaps in place and the battery pack is fully seated
and secure in the tiller's battery port before beginning
operation. Failure to securely seat the battery pack could
cause the battery pack to fall out, resulting in serious
personal injury.
Lower the battery cover and make sure it is securely
closed.
OPERATION
To remove:
Raise the battery cover.
Press and hold the battery latch button at the bottom of
the battery pack.
Remove battery pack from the tiller.
Lower the battery cover and make sure it is securely
closed.

Manuals for your RYOBI battery pack and charger models.
WARNING:
To avoid accidental starting that could result in serious
personal injury, always remove the start key and battery
packs when moving or transporting the tiller.
NOTE: The battery storage compartment offers a convenient
place for storing your battery, or to store an extra battery
pack. The unit cannot be powered by the battery while it
is installed in the battery storage compartment; it must be
moved to the battery port in order to power the unit from
the battery port.
CHANGING WHEEL POSITIONS
See Figures 8 - 9.
The wheel position of the unit is adjustable. Adjust the
position of the wheels by placing the tabs on the wheel
assembly into different sets of notches on the wheel adjust
bracket.
CAUTION:
The wheel assembly is spring loaded. Be careful to avoid
pinching your fingers or hands when adjusting the wheel
position.
From the rear of the tiller, pull the axle outward and rotate
to the desired position.
Release the axle so that the wheel assembly is secured
into the desired location.
NOTE: The spring loaded wheel assembly will snap
forward if released.
Slowly bring the axle outward and seat the tabs on the
wheel assembly into a set of notches on the wheel adjust
bracket.
• Place the wheel assembly into the lowest set of notches
(position 1) to transport the tiller.
• Place the wheel assembly into the middle set of notches
(position 2) to allow shallow penetration of the tine
blades into the cultivating surface.
• Place the wheel assembly into the top set of notches
(position 3) to allow deep penetration of the tine blades
into the cultivating surface.
