Operating instructions
ENGLISH
To ensure that the device will function correctly, and have a
long service life, please comply with the information in these
Operating Instructions, as well as with the application condi-
tions and permissible data given in the Type 6223 data
sheet:
• When planning the application of the device, and during its
operation, observe the general technical rules!
• Take suitable measures to prevent unintentional operation or
impermissible impairment!
• Note that lines and valves must not be unscrewed from systems
that are under pressure!
• Always switch off the voltage supply before working on the
system!
• If this information is ignored, or if unauthorised work is carried out
on the device, we will not accept liability of any kind, and the warranty
will no longer be valid for the unit and its accessories!
• Warning! The surface of the electromagnet can become very
hot during continuous operation. Danger of injury!
Servo-controlled 2/2 way flow valve in piston construction
• Electro-magnetic proportional drive; control preferably using the
1094 electronics which conform to the valve (see operating
instructions).
• Linear flow characteristics for application conditions which are
compatible with the performance data of the device according to
the data sheet
• Can be mounted in any position, preferably with the magnetic
system at the top
• Coil can be locked in 4x 90° steps
• Tightening torque of the fixing nuits: 9 - 10 Nm
• Media: neutral fluids; gaseous media on request
DEAR CUSTOMER
Congratulations on your purchase of this Bürkert appliance. For
your own safety, please carefully read through these operating
instructions before installing the appliance. Your local Bürkert
branch will be pleased to answer any questions you may have.
PLEASE NOTE:
The current values at the start of opening and when reaching
the maximum flow are dependent on the pressure conditions:
- The current at the start of opening increases with increasing
pre-pressure
- The current for the full valve opening increases with increasing
differential pressure over the valve
We reserve the right to make technical changes without
notice

• Pressure difference > 0.5 bar
• Max. temperature: medium: +90°C; ambient: +55°C
The voltage, electrical power, pressure range and nominal
diameter, as well as the housing and sealing materials, can
be found on the rating plate!
Voltage tolerance: ±10%
• Electrical connection: Type 2508 unit socket to the tag connec-
tions on the coil and the 1094-PHR standard rail electronics
(recommended cable length < 50 m!)
or Type 1094-PMR plug-in control electronics
• Protection class IP 65 (in combination with unit sockets or control
electronics)
• When screwing down the unit socket onto the coil, ensure that the
flat seal is well seated! Tightening torque for securing the
appliance socket: 1 Nm
Work on the unit must only be performed by skilled
personnel using suitable tools!
• Position the proportional valve as close as possible to the low
pressure side!
• When using soiled media, or media that tends to create deposits,
provide suitable filters in the fluid circuit!
• Clean the piping and hose system before installing the valve!
• Observe the direction of flow (arrow)!
• Never use the valve as a lever when screwing in the pipe
connections!
• Do not subject the valve housing to stress when fitting!
• Faults can be caused by dirt, short-circuits or interruptions in the
voltage.
• In the event of fault, check the port connections, seals, voltages,
type of current and operating pressures.
