2. If you wish to cook at high pressure, set the pressure control to the high pressure position (8).
Cooking at high pressure is faster and uses a higher temperature. It is suitable especially for
cooking meat and food that otherwise requires a longer thermal treatment.
3. Place the correctly fi lled and closed pressure cooker with the selected operating pressure onto
heat set to the highest output.
4. After a short time the lock against accidental opening slips upwards, which means that pressure
has been generated inside and the pressure cooker is secured against accidental opening (9).
After a while, steam will begin to escape from the cover of the operating valve (10). Now reduce
the heat output of the cooker so that only a small amount of steam escapes from the pressure
cooker.
5. We do not recommend switching between low and high operating pressure during the cooking
process. If necessary, use an oven mitt when setting pressure during the cooking process – the
steam escaping from the pressure cooker is hot!
6. Always use a cooking range or fl ame of appropriate size – the diameter of the cooking range
must be the same or smaller than the diameter of the bottom of the pressure cooker! Flame
must never expand beyond the bottom of the pressure cooker. Use a dispenser net or cooking
range when cooking on gas.
ATTENTION! A MINUTE AMOUNT OF STEAM MAY ALSO ESCAPE FROM THE SLIT OF THE CONTROL
DURING THE COOKING PROCESS.
NOTICE
If a large amount of steam escapes from the pressure cooker at the beginning of the cooking process,
the pressure cooker has not been correctly closed. Set the pressure cooker aside and inspect; the
pressure cooker is usually closed incorrectly if one of the following has occurred:
a) The lid is set incorrectly on the vessel – close the pressure cooker again.
b) The control is set in the position for releasing steam or in the position for opening and removing
the lid – set the control to the low or high pressure position.
c) The silicone seal in the lid is not positioned correctly – set the silicone seal so that it is properly
aligned with the inner rim of the lid.
d) The silicone seal is damaged – replace the seal with a new one, available at the TESCOMA Retail
and Service Centres.
