APPLICATION
Opening the pressure cooker
Set the control to the position for opening the pressure cooker, move the handle of the lid (top part)
counter-clockwise and remove the lid from the vessel (1).
NEVER APPLY INAPPROPRIATE FORCE WHEN OPENING THE PRESSURE COOKER.
Inspecting the valves and the lock against accidental opening
Operating valve
Check that the aperture of the operating valve is clean and not clogged; otherwise fl ush it under
running water or clean it using a suitable object such as a thin skewer (2). Check that the nut of the
valve is tightened well; if not, tighten the nut.
Lock against accidental opening
Check that the lock against accidental opening moves freely up and down (3); otherwise fl ush it
under running water. Check that the nut of the lock is tightened well; if not, tighten the nut.
Safety valve
Press on the piston of the safety valve several times – it must spring (4); otherwise fl ush it under
running water. Check that the nut of the valve is tightened well; if not, tighten the nut.
INSPECT THE VALVES BEFORE EACH USE. IF THE PROBLEM CANNOT BE RESOLVED USING THE ABOVE
PROCEDURES, DO NOT USE THE PRESSURE COOKER AND CONTACT A TESCOMA SERVICE CENTRE.
Filling the pressure cooker
For safety reasons, the pressure cooker must be fi lled to a maximum of 2/3 vessel capacity. With food
that tends to froth or swell when heated, such as soups, legumes and rice, fi ll the pressure cooker to
a maximum of 1/2 vessel capacity to avoid clogging of the valves (5).
NEVER COOK WITHOUT WATER IN THE PRESSURE COOKER – THE MINIMUM AMOUNT OF WATER
IS 250 ML.
Closing the pressure cooker
Set the control to the position for opening and removing the lid. Place the lid of the pressure cooker onto
the vessel so that the round mark on the handle of the vessel is oriented towards the safety valve on the
lid and rotate the handle of the lid counter-clockwise until the handles are aligned with each other (6).
NEVER APPLY INAPPROPRIATE FORCE WHEN CLOSING THE PRESSURE COOKER.
Cooking in the pressure cooker
SELECT LOW OR HIGH PRESSURE BY SETTING THE CONTROL TO THE RELEVANT POSITION.
1. If you wish to cook at low pressure, turn the control to the low pressure position (7). Cooking
at low pressure is ideal for gentle thermal treatment of food; for example for cooking vegetables,
fruit, legumes, fi sh, etc.
