CAUTION
Manual unlocking. In case of malfunction as well as when turned off, the DynamicArm can be locked and
unlocked by means of the mechanical pull cable. Particular caution is required when unlocking while lifting
heavy loads!
Manual unlocking under load poses a great risk of injury and should be carried out with great caution only.
WARNING
Simultaneous use of the product with active, implantable systems.
The electromagnetic interference of the DynamicArm could have a temporary influence on active, implantab-
le systems (e.g. pacemakers, defibrillators etc.). This may result in injury. Do not bring the DynamicArm into
the immediate proximity of active, implantable systems.
CAUTION
Improper handling. Any type of excessive stressing/loading or improper handling can lead to faulty control
or malfunction of the DynamicArm, resulting in a risk of injury to the patient.
The DynamicArm was developed for everyday use and must not be used for unusual activities such as ex-
treme sports (free climbing, paragliding etc.).
Careful handling of the prosthesis and its components not only increases their service life but, above all, en-
sures the patient's personal safety!
If the prosthesis has been subjected to extreme loads (e.g. through a fall or similar occurrence) it must be
inspected by a prosthetist immediately for possible damage. The contact person for this is the responsible
prosthetist, who will send the prosthesis to Ottobock Myo-Service if necessary.
CAUTION
Lifting of objects. Be aware that fast lifting of objects entails a risk of injury.
CAUTION
Manipulation of system components. Independent changes and/or modifications to system components
can lead to faulty control or malfunction of the DynamicArm, resulting in a risk of injury to the patient.
The DynamicArm and DynamicArm components may be opened or repaired only by certifed Ottobock Myo-
Service technicians.
NOTICE
Use of an incorrect AC adapter. Use of an incorrect AC adapter can lead to destruction of the product.
Use only the supplied AC adapter.
WARNING
Risk of accident while operating a vehicle. An upper extremity amputee's ability to drive a vehicle is deter-
mined on a case-by-case basis. Factors include the type of fitting (amputation level, unilateral or bilateral,
residual limb conditions, design of the prosthesis) and the amputee's abilities. All persons are required to
observe their country's national and state driving laws when operating vehicles. For insurance purposes,
drivers should have their driving ability examined and approved by an authorized test centre. For maximum
safety and convenience, Ottobock recommends that, at the very least, a specialist evaluate the need for any
adaptations to the car (such as by installing a steering fork). It is indispensable to ensure that the driver is
able to operate the vehicle without any risk with the DynamicArm turned off. Driving with the DynamicArm
turned ON may present a risk if the DynamicArm inadvertently moves due to unintentional muscle contrac-
tion or other causes.
