HOW TO SET THE SYSTEM IP ADDRESS

Connecting the DMP808 to a computer for remote operation requires the user to enter an IP address for the unit. There are
two controls that help determined the IP address of the DMP808 matrix processor. The first is the UNIT ID rotary control, that
lets you select 0 – 9 and A – F. The second is the DIP switch located directly beside the rotary switch. The 3rd and 4th poles
of the DIP switch can be used to set a numerical value between 0 and 3. These combine with the UNIT ID rotary switch to
form a hexadecimal value for the last value of the IP address (as indicated below).

The configurable range for the last digit is 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, A, B, C, D, E and F.
The unit ID configuration mechanism of DMP808 is developed based on "hexadecimal numeral system". Therefore, a
scientific calculator may be required when setting the unit ID of the IP address for DMP808. Below is the procedure for
setting the unit ID:
1. Define the IP address for your DMP808.
2. Convert the decimal value of the host bits of the IP address to a Hexadecimal value (consult the provided table).
3. Set PINS 3 and 4 on the 8-PIN DIP switch according to the first digit of the converted Hexadecimal value.
4. Set the rotary switch according to the second digit of the converted Hexadecimal value.
Example: To set an IP address of "192.168.0.21" on your DMP808, the rotary control should be set to 5 and the DIP
switches 3 and 4 should be set to ON and OFF, respectively. This sets a hexadecimal value of 15, which - converted to
decimal - is 21. Consult the included chart for hexadecimal to decimal conversion.
