ADDITIONAL CONTROLS

EMERGENCY FUNCTIONING
The following two faults are envisaged:
IN THIS CASE THE THERMOSTAT OPERATES AS FOLLOWS:
Ventilation is always enabled
- The season change is made on the basis of the difference between the setting made and the actual ambient temperature. If
the ambient temperature exceeds an interval equal to the dead band, Heating Mode passes to Cooling Mode; If the ambient
temperature drops below an interval equal to the dead band, Cooling Mode passes to Heating Mode.
The switching on or off of the resistor, in this case, does not depend on the water temperature but on the thermostat function
request.
AMBIENT PROBE NOT FITTED (2 PIPES)
In this case the thermostat operates as follows:
OFF mode - Aux
The valve is closed
The fan is off
AUTO, V1, V2, V3 modes:
The valve is always open.
Operating season always set to heating.
Ventilation follows On-Off cycles with an ON cycle proportional to the setpoint value entered into the VMF-E4 panel.
The total duration of the ON-OFF cycle is 5'20". The following table shows some examples of duration of the various ON
and OFF cycles based on the position of the temperature selector:
AMBIENT PROBE NOT FITTED (4 PIPES)
In this case the thermostat operates as follows:
OFF mode - Aux
The valves are closed
The fan is off
AUTO, V1, V2, V3 modes:
The operating season is decided in relation to the temperature selector's position, activating the respective valve as detailed
in the chapter on valve control logic with thermostat ventilation.
ValMin
ValMin
Opening of cold water valve, ventilation period
proportional to the deviation from the median
position
In this case, ventilation takes place according to some ON-OFF cycles, increasing the ON stage starting from the central position.
This way it is possible to request maximum ventilation with the selector in the minimum position for the cooling operating
season, and similar ventilation can be at a maximum with the selector in the maximum position for the heating operating season.
The total duration of the ON-OFF cycle is always 5'20". The following table shows some examples of duration of the various ON
and OFF cycles base do the position of the temperature selector:
