CONDENSATE DISCHARGE CONTROL:
The thermostat monitors the "CONDENSATE DISCHARGE" CONTACT, which derives from the evacuation pump for the condensate that
forms in the tray of the cassette. In the event of faults that can cause the water level to rise,by means of the signal coming from the
pump float, the control tries to reduce the formation of condensate by closing the valve, keeping the ventilation active and signalling
the fault (see the coding of alarms from the LED card). The control will restore normal cassette function when the float in the tray
returns to resting position.

LOCAL CASSETTE NETWORKS

GLF grid thermostats have been designed to be able to communicate with all VMF family thermostats via a dedicated serial network
based on TTL logical standards and low throughput. This serial communication is indispensable for data exchange within small fan
coil networks. This network consists of more than 6 thermostats with a maximum length of about 30 meters. It has been designed for
small areas with more than one fan coil, but that the user wishes to be able to control from a single point of command. In detail, each
network has a master to which the VMF-E4X user interface is connected. This is used to control the slaves, which are connected to it,
according to the settings controlled from the user interface.
OPERATING PRINCIPLE
The fan coil master - onto which the E4 interface is installed - transmits information cyclically to the slave units, allowing control of the
following:
Setpoint values
Operating modes (OFF, AUTO, V1, V2, V3, AUX)
Operating season
Fin motor activation
The fan coil slave units are therefore unable to function (except in certain specific cases) according to settings that are different to those
dictated by the master.
Ambient probe: The ambient regulation probe is not necessary on the slave units since they can use the master probe if needed. In
order to avoid microclimates, it is possible to install it on the slave units, which will then regulate with their respective probes. If the
probe on the master fails, the salves without a probe will operate in emergency mode (similarly to the master) while the slaves with a
probe will continue to operate in normal mode.
Water probe: Installing water probes on the various fan coils in the TTL network is optional. Fan coils with probes will use them to
control the set minimums and maximums. In fan coils without probes, ventilation will always be enabled.
External Contact Input This digital input is deactivated on all fan coil slave units and activated only on the master. When the master
input is closed, all the fan coil slave units in the network will be switched off.
Sensor input: Any digital sensor input present is activated only on the fan coil master, which uses it to determine the option explained in
the paragraph
"Sleep Function", the setpoint value transmitted to the slave units.
Anti-freeze function: The anti-freeze function is the only case in which a slave in this state can operate according to settings not set by
the master. In general, whether they are master or slave units, when they enter anti-freeze mode, they begin to operate as detailed in
the previous paragraph, "Anti-freeze protection".
FAULTS ON THE TTL NETWORK
Absence of Master-Slave communication: The fan coil slave units wait for their turn in a cycle to receive settings for the zone from the
fan coil master. If a slave unit no longer communicates for any reason, with the master unit is goes into the OFF state (or all loads are
turned off) 10 minutes after the last correctly received command.
Absence of Master-User Interface Communication: if, at a certain point, the master no longer communicates with the user interface,
it goes into OFF status 10 minutes after the last command correctly received from the user interface. The master will also send the OFF
command to all the slaves. The user interface will then give visual blinking fuchsia LED + thermostat LED signals to indicate that there is
no communication.
