NOTE: Each end of the lower handle must be placed in the
same position on the mounting brackets.
a. Remove the star knobs shown in Fig. 3-3 and remove
the lower handle.
b. Position each handle bracket stud into the top hole
in the lower handle.
c. Tighten the star knobs.
3. Position the recoil starter by following the steps below:
a. Hold the blade control against the upper handle.
b. Slowly pull the starter rope out of the engine. See
Fig. 3-4.

c. Slip the starter rope into the rope guide.
d. Tighten the rope guide wing nut.

4. Use the cable tie provided to secure cable to the lower
handle. Pull the cable tie tight and trim excess. See Fig. 3-5.

Rear Wheels
Install rear wheels as follows in Fig. 3-6 (wheels maybe already
installed at factory, if so disregard this step):

1. Place rear of the mower deck on raised blocks.
2. Remove lock nut from pivot arm assembly (on select
models, these may be included separately in a plastic bag).
3. Slide wheel, with hollow side in, onto pivot arm and secure
with lock nut.
4. Assemble the other side in the same manner.
