WARNING
Metering pumps can start to oper-
ate as soon as they are connected
to the mains power supply.
The metering pump cannot be
switched off. In the case of an elec-
trical accident, disconnect the pow-
er cable from the mains power
supply.
Disconnect the power cable from
the mains power supply before
working on the metering pump.
Always depressurise liquid end be-
fore working on the metering pump.
Always empty and rinse the liquid
end before working on the metering
pump if used with hazardous or un-
known feed chemicals.
Note all national directives which
apply to the installation.
Protect yourself when handling with
hazardous feed chemicals.
Check pump connections for thight-
ness.
Check suction valve and pressure
valve for leakages and retighten if
required!
Check liquid end for leakages and
retighten, if required!
CAUTION
It is not permitted to assemble and
install metering pumps with non-
genuine parts which have not been
checked and recommended by
Kärcher. It can endanger people
and property in circumstances for
which we are not liable.
Once fitted, hoses must not be
kinked or subject to mechanical
stress.
To ensure the durability of the con-
nections, always use correctly-
sized circlips and hose nozzles.
Always use original hoses of the
specified diameter and wall thick-
ness.
Ensure operating pressure for the
metering pump and the tubing sys-
tem does not exceed the maximum
admissible level (see product-spe-
cific operating instructions and your
system documentation).
IMPORTANT
Ensure easy access for operation
and maintenance.
GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
This product must be grounded. If it
should malfunction or breakdown,
grounding provides a path of least re-
sistance for electric current to reduce
the risk of electric shock. This product
is equipped with a cord having an
equipment-grounding conductor and a
grounding plug. The plug must be
plugged into an appropriate outlet that
is properly installed and grounded in
accordance with all local codes and or-
dinances.
DANGER
Improper connection of the equipment-
grounding conductor can result in a risk
of electrocution. Check with a qualified
electrician or service personnel if you
are in doubt as to whether the outlet is
properly grounded. Do not modify the
plug provided with the product - if it will
not fit the outlet, have a proper outlet
installed by a qualified electrician. Do
not use any type of adapter with this
product.

A temporary adapter that looks like the
adapter illustrated in Fig.B, may be
used to connect this plug to a two-pole
receptacle as shown in Fig.B, if a prop-
erly grounded outlet is not available.
The temporary adapter should be used
only until a properly grounded outlet
(Fig.A) is installed by a qualified electri-
can.
The green colored rigid ear, lug, or the
like extending from the adapter must
be connected to a permanent ground
such as a properly grounded outlet box
cover.
Whenever the adapter is used, it must
be held in place by a metal screw.
IN ALL CASES, MAKE
SURE THE RECEPTA-

EXTENSION CORDS
Use only three-wire extension cords
that have three-prong grounding-type
plugs and three-pole receptacle that
accepts the appliance's plug. Replace
damaged or worn cord immediately.
