support bar will lock automatically,
supporting the engine in a partially
raised position.
NOTE:
This motor has 2 positions for shallow
water cruising.

1) Place the tilt lock lever in the lock
position.
2) Slightly tilt up the engine until the tilt-
support bar automatically returns to
the free position.
3) Then, slowly lower the engine to the
normal position.

CRUISING IN SALT WATER
After operating in salt water, wash out the
cooling-water passages with fresh water
to prevent them from becoming clogged-
up with salt deposits.
NOTE:
Refer to cooling system flushing instruc-
tions in "TRANSPORTING AND STORING
OUTBOARD MOTOR".
CRUISING IN TURBID WATER
It is strongly recommended that the
optional chromium-plated water-pump kit
be installed if the outboard is to be used
in turbid (muddy) water conditions.
