• I. INTRODUCTION
Congratulations on choosing this quality SCOTT product. Before use, please read
the following instructions carefully. Please keep these instructions in safe custody.
This specific product line has been developed to offer you the best comfort and an
engineered fit.
• II. LEGAL REQUIREMENTS
These pads are considered to be items of Personal Protector Equipment (PPE) of Cat-
egory I and as such are subject to the requirements laid down by the European direc-
tive 89/686/EEC. The CE marking may be allocated by SCOTT only once the pad has
undergone laboratory tests aimed at determining the pad's compliance with the min-
imum safety requirements at Ricotest (NB 0498), via Tione 9, 37010 Pastrengo, Ita-
ly which confirms that our products meet the requirements of directive 89/686/EEC.
The trail pads only protect against bruses and light abrasion.
• III. INTENDED USE
The most important protection aim of the SCOTT Mission pads is to prevent the limb joint
(elbow or knee) against bruses and minor abrasion through mechanical action and rel-
ative motion between the user's limb joint and off-road terrain during mountain-biking
activities. The Mission pads will not protect you against impacts.
• IV. USER RESTRICTIONS
APPLICATION AREA
All pads provide a limited protection only in areas covered by the plates. They can arch
both forward and backward to simulate and support natural movement.
LIMITATION OF USE
Elbow and knee
These pads do not safeguard against traumas caused by twisting, torsion or extreme
movements. They provide this mentioned limited protection only in areas covered by the
plates. SCOTT Sports SA shall not accept any complaints arising from the use of those
products where the pads are not applied.
MISUSES
Bending or twisting the pad excessively is considered improper use and it may cause
the loss of pad properties or breakage of the gear.
We recommend that the pad is not left outside or exposed to extremely high or low
temperatures before use. Changes in environmental conditions such as temperature
and wetness could significantly reduce the performance of the pads. Product modifica-
tions may cause the loss of protection and therefore, they are considered as improper
use. Any contamination, alteration to the pads or misuse could dangerously reduce the
performance of the pad. Never tamper with any part of the pads. Do not paint the pad
nor use colorants of any nature. SCOTT Sports SA shall not accept complaints or re-
place pads that have been used improperly.
