USE
1. Remove spark plug.
2. Install the adaptor (3) or adaptor (2+3) into the spark plug thread.
3. Turn crankshaft until the piston reach the TDC position (approximately).
4. Choose the required measuring pin (6/7/8), short, middle or long and install it into the thread of
measuring pin holder (14). The short measuring pin (8) is pre-assembled and must be changed
for this if another is required.
5. Insert the dial gauge (1) into the dial gauge holder (4) and secure with the clamping ring of the
holder.
6. If the extension (5) is required, it must be mounted on the dial gauge holder.
7. Insert dial gauge with measuring pin, holder and extension into the adapter.
8. Loosen the clamping ring and adjust the depth so that the dial gauge shows a value and the
piston does not hit the dial gauge stop at TDC. Re-tighten the clamping ring again.
9. Turn the crankshaft alternately 90 degrees in both directions until the dial gauge shows the
highest value.
10. Loosen the adjustment ring fixing screw (11). Turn the adjustment ring (12) on the dial gauge until
the pointer is in the zero position. Fix the adjustment ring by the adjustment ring fixing screw.
11. The position of the piston can now be determined by turning the crankshaft. If you turn the
crankshaft against the direction of engine rotation, the piston is in before TDC position. If you turn
the crankshaft in direction of engine rotation, the piston is in after TDC position.
