LONG PERIODS OF
INACTIVITY
Precautions are needed to avoid the adverse
effects of prolonged inactivity.
Further, it is important to carry out the
necessary repairs and a general check up
before the period of inactivity, since you could
forget to carry them out later.
Proceed as follows:
◆ Remove the battery (see p. 67 REMOVING
THE BATTERY, and p. 66 LONG
INACTIVITY OF THE BATTERY).
◆ Wash and dry the vehicle, see p. 77
(CLEANING).
◆ Polish the painted surfaces with wax.
◆ Inflate the tyres, see p. 33 (TYRES).

◆ Place the vehicle in an unheated, not-
humid room, away from sunlight, with
minimum temperature variations.
◆ Position and tie a plastic bag on the final
pipe of the exhaust silencer, in order to
prevent moisture from getting into it.
◆ Cover the vehicle avoiding the use of
plastic or waterproof materials.
AFTER A PERIOD OF INACTIVITY
◆ Uncover and clean the vehicle, see p. 77
(CLEANING).
◆ Check the charge of the battery, see p. 69
(RECHARGING THE BATTERY) and install
it, see p. 68 (INSTALLING THE BATTERY).
◆ Refuel, see p. 26 (FUEL).
◆ Carry out the preliminary checking
