TO PROGRAM THE MEMORY BUTTONS
Ten FM and ten AM radio stations may be independently set. After programming the
buttons, pressing the "MEM" button (F) will instantly change the frequency to the preset
station on either AM or FM wherever you have it set at the time. To program the
remaining ten channels, press the "MODE" button (I) to change AM or FM.
1. Turn power on.
2. Set the radio to desired station (see Tune or Seek Function).
3. Press and hold the memory button (F). The "Mem" icon begins flashing in the LCD
display (E). Use either of the tune buttons to select the desired memory storage location
(0-9). After the storage location is selected, the memory will be set after 5 uninterrupted
flashes of the "Mem" icon.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to set the other memory buttons.
BASS BUTTON
To add bass, press the "BASS" button (H).
1. BASS displays on the LCD screen.
2. To turn the bass off, press the button again.
IMPORTANT RADIO NOTES
1. Reception will vary depending on location and
strength of radio signal.
2. Certain generators may cause background noise.
3. AM reception will most likely be clearer when
powered by a battery pack.

port as shown in figure 5. The sound from the
external source plays through the speakers of the
PC18JR.

DUAL 120V AC OUTLETS
Two 120V AC outlets are located on the front of the radio. With the radio plugged into a
working 120 volt source, two additional tools or other 120V products can be plugged into
the outlets.
MAINTENANCE
SERVICE NOTES
This product is not user serviceable. There are no user serviceable parts inside the radio.
Servicing at an authorized service center is required to avoid damage to static sensitive
internal components.
CLEANING
WARNING: Never use solvents or other harsh chemicals for cleaning the non-metallic
parts of the radio. These chemicals may weaken the materials used in these parts.
Use a cloth dampened only with water and mild soap. Never let any liquid get inside the
tool; never immerse any part of the tool into a liquid.
CAUTION: NEVER spray or in any other way apply lubricants or cleaning solvents
inside the tool. This can seriously affect the life and performance of the tool.
RADIO CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING: Disconnect the radio from the AC outlet before cleaning. Dirt and grease
may be removed from the exterior of the radio using a cloth or soft non-metallic brush. Do
not use water or any cleaning solutions.

TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM
POSSIBLE CAUSE
• Unit will not start.
• Cord not plugged in.
• Circuit fuse is blown.
• Circuit breaker is tripped.
• Cord or switch is damaged.
• Battery not charged.

MAINTENANCE
Use only mild soap and damp cloth to clean the tool. Never let any liquid get inside the
tool; never immerse any part of the tool into a liquid.
THREE YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
PORTER-CABLE will repair or replace, without charge, any defects due to faulty
materials or workmanship for three years from the date of purchase for tools (two years
for batteries). This warranty does not cover part failure due to normal wear or tool abuse.
