- As protection of environment is to be
considered, it is advisable to use the external
dust extraction system, so that chips and
sawdust are extracted immediately. The dust
extraction adapter (18) is to be used for
connection of the suction hose junction
sleeve.
Sawing with the guide rail
and the cutting guide
(accessories - Figure 4 )
Exactly guided cutting is possible with the
cutting guide (17) attached to the guide plate of
the saw, used together with a guide rail (16).
The bottom surface of the guide rail is provided
with a rough covering to prevent skidding.
Should it not be sufficient, it is possible to fix the
guide rail at the end faces using the fastening
clamps, also delivered as accessories. When
necessary, several guide rails may be joined
together using the rail couplers, also delivered
as accessories.
Saw blade and its replacement
Always use well sharpened saw blades suitable
for the intended work. Blunt, cracked or
deformed saw blades are dangerous and their
use is strictly prohibited.
- To change the saw blade, lock the saw
spindle by pressing the spindle locking device
(19), loosen the blade fixing screw (20) using
the hexagon key delivered, and remove the
clamping flange (21).
- Swing the pendulum safety guard (11) back
and remove the saw blade (12).
- Before a new saw blade is fitted, clean the
contact surfaces of the backing flange, saw
blade and clamping flange, and tighten the
blade fixing screw (20) again.
- Replace the hexagon key in its holder.
- The backing flange (bottom) and the clamping
flange (upper) are designed as a safety
clutch, so that if a sudden heavy overload
occurs during startup or when the saw blade
is blocked in cut, the saw blade may slip
between the flanges. Thus the risk of kickback
is reduced and gears of the circular saw are
protected.
- The button of the spindle locking device may
be pressed only when the electric tool is not
running (with the plug disconnected from the
mains).

Riving knife

- The circular saw is supplied fully assembled,
fitted with the riving knife (22) which must
always be used in order to assure safe
operation.
- If position of the riving knife is to be altered to
suit different saw blade diameters, swing the
pendulum safety guard back, loosen the fixing
screw (23) using the hexagon key (24) and
shift the riving knife in its guiding slot.
- The riving knife is correctly adjusted when its
distance from the saw blade is in accordance
with Figure 3.
- When the correct position of the riving knife
has been accomplished, retighten the fixing
screw firmly.

Maintenance and care

The portable circular saws require practically no
maintenance. Lubrication for the antifriction
bearings and gears is designed to last for the
service life of the electric tool. However, it is
recommended to clean air inlet and outlet
openings and dust extraction and chip discharge
channels occasionally with compressed air while
the electric tool is running at no load. This will
prevent clogging of these openings with dust or
(Figures 1 to 3)
chips.
The carbon brushes are specially designed to
allow their wear only to the minimum usable
length. Then the power supply circuit is
automatically interrupted and the electric tool
stops running.
Replacement of the carbon brushes is to be
carried out by specialized service staff only!
Storage
Packed electric tools may be stored in dry
unheated storerooms with temperatures not
dropping below - 5°C. Unpacked electric tools
shall be stored only in dry self-contained
storerooms with temperatures not dropping
below + 5°C, where sudden temperature
changes are prevented.
