Operation
The chosen system is one of the most reliable on the market and it provides the best filtration quality. The elements
are usually provided disassembled for ease of transport, so they need to be connected.
1.- Install the filters on a flat surface, according to the layout provided. Install the inlet and outlet collectors, fasten
the flanges to their joints, and check that they are equally tight and crosswise. Connect the drainage pipes (not pro-
vided) and direct them to the drainage point with enough space and volume. Connect the inlet and outlet goosenecks
(not provided).
2.- Connect the microtubes to the controller sensors. Connect the outlets to the stations and then to the solenoids
through the bases.
3.- Open the upper inspection covers of the Sand filters and fill them halfway with water. Pour in the filtering material
(standard volcanic sand, silica, or others) very slowly, making sure not to break the retaining elements. Pour in the
minimum required amount of filtering material,
according to the model, as stated on the quality
control label.
4.- Connect the electrical supply after identifying
the controller model. The recommended differen-
tial pressure is 0.5 to 0.8kg/cm².
5.- Check that the screws are tight and apply pres-
sure to the system little by little, checking for possi-
ble leaks. Water will stop leaking from the draina-
ge pipes when the system reaches 1kg/cm² of
pressure.
6.- Carry out several washing cycles in a row until
all impurities from the filtering material are elimi-
nated.
7.- Run the system at a suitable flow rate and pres-
sure and check that the pressure drop corresponds
to the values given in the tables.
8.- Recommended time regulations:
Cleaning every 24 hours.
With 2" and 3" valves, between 1 and 3 min.
With 4" valves, between 2 and 4 min.
With 3" and 4" double valves, please seek fur-
ther information.
9.- The time after which the filtering material
should be replaced varies according to the pollu-
tant. Always leave the filter with water in it, because
if it dries out a hard paste will form that will stop it
from working correctly.
10.- After a long shutdown period, check that the
filtering material is completely loose by opening
the upper inspection covers. If the material has
been compacted, replace it via the lower opening.
Use water to aid the process and never hit the insi-
de of the system, since the internal plastic elements
may break.
11.- If in doubt please contact the product vendor.
