9. While using the whirlpool

Read Working Instructions
Operators using the whirlpool need
Personnel who will work with the whirlpool need to read this manual.
Have a plumbing professional install the whirlpool as instructed in installing section. A rough-in drawing
is available to assist the installer. Contact Ortotecsa Customer Service, bottom of page, for additional
installation not covered in this manual. Confirm that the whirlpool operates properly. See Inspecting the
Whirlpool section.
General Guidelines for Use
Medical advice is beyond the parameters of this manual.
The whirlpool is for professional use only.
The trained operator must evaluate and verify that the patient is suitable for hydrotherapy treatment
before beginning hydrotherapy with whirlpool. See Patient Evaluation section.
Follow your hydrotherapy procedures if the patient has a physician's order for treatment (see Patient
Evaluation section).
Stay with patient at all time.
It is the operator's responsibility to ensure safe practices for the patient and themselves.
If a turbine is used: Plug the turbine cord only into a receptacle that is voltage matched, properly
grounded and polarized. Verify that the receptacle has GFI protection or order a GFCI plug for the
turbine cord. Keep patient hair, gown strings and other loose items away from the impeller housing to
avoid entanglement and injury. Keep the area around the turbine clear. The turbine requires a minimum
of 24" (610mm) of clearance.
Positions of patient and caretaker
Depending of the member to be treated, the patient should sit in such way to have a comfortable
position. If it is necessary put a towel between body and edge, in case of arm's treatment, for avoiding
pain for supporting the arm right on the edge of whirlpool.
Caretaker must provide the more comfortable position to the patient. Caretaker is not intended to be in
a specific position during treatment.

10. Instructions for use

This product is intended to be used in hydro-therapy procedures. Always has to be used following the
indications of this point.
In addition you must to know that
The product is intended to be used by people has knowledge and experience of aquatic physical-therapy
procedures.
The product is intended to be used by people with the ability to assist the patient.
The product just has one function and it is provided by activating the element number 9. When it is
deactivated the product stops to provide the function.
