Important basic rules about using the set
The LCD TV you have bought meets the highest quality demands in this segment and was examined
for pixel faults. Despite the great care we take when manufacturing the sets, the fact that some
pixels are dead cannot be totally excluded.
We ask you to appreciate that these effects cannot be considered as an operating defect in terms of
the warranty, provided they are within the limits set by the standard.
If still pictures are displayed for an extended period, this can cause shadows on the screen,
something that can happen with every TV set. This type of LCD panel phenomenon can be limited by
observing the following points:
●
do not allow a still picture to be displayed for an extended period
●
use your flat panel in a full-screen format (16:9)
●
activate the screen saver
●
as far as possible, display moving pictures
●
always switch off the screen when it is not being used
●
reduce the contrast and brightness as far as possible.
Poor conditions can cause your LCD TV to hum. The humming generally comes from the mains
voltage supply and can be caused by connecting different protective earth conductors. You can solve
the problem by installing a so-called sheathed current filter between the incoming antenna lead and
the antenna input on the TV. The sheathed current filter is like a small adapter and can be found at
your local electrical shop.
If your LCD TV is connected to an external antenna, it must be earthed to protect it against power
surges and static charges. The earth must comply with the valid regulations.
