Features (fig. A)
Tool shown is MT143. Other tools are available for
use with this tool head.
This tool includes some or all of the following
features.
10. Garden Shear/Hedge trimmer head
11. Grass shear blade

15. Lock off button
16. Grass shear blade cover

Assembly
Warning! Before attempting any of the following
operations, remove the battery from the tool and
make sure that the saw blade has stopped. Used
saw blades may be hot.
Fitting and removing the blade (fig. B1-B4)
The shear blade (11) has been designed for trim-
ming grass and weeds. The trim blade (12) has
been designed for trimming hedges and shrubs.
Remove the blade cover.
Hold the tool away from the body

Push and hold the blade release button (13) in
u
the direction of the arrow (fig. B1).

Slide the blade cover (14) backward and lift off
u
(fig. B2).
Lower the blade onto the pins (B3).
u
Note: The retaining magnet (18) will keep the
blade secured to garden shear/hedge trimmer
head.
Replace the blade cover (14) and slide it
u
forward (fig. B4) until it clicks into place.
Note: Alignment of the blade with the drive pin
and alignment of the back of the blade and the
retaining magnet (18) is required when re-fitting the
blade cover.
Use
Switching on and off
Note: Ensure the forward reverse slider (2) is not
in the locked position.
To switch the tool on, pull the lock off button

(15) then press the variable speed switch (1).
The tool should always be run at full speed.
Release the lock off button.
u
To switch the tool off, release the variable
u
speed switch.
Hints for optimum use
Trimming grass
In order to achieve optimum cutting results,
u
only cut dry grass.
