connected as indicated in the corresponding installation diagrams by means of the V terminal (V,-). Every time a panel
call is made, the corresponding video distributor is activated by CC, so that the user can see the caller with no need to
pick up the phone. CC will also be activated when the concierge places the house in communication with the outdoor
panel.

REMARKS

Device compatible with the MDS digital system for minicentral versions 4.1 or higher. The 5.0 version will include
the decoder bus sabotage protection function.

Conventional audio decoders (telephones) and 2-wire decoders (2-wire telephones) can coexist perfectly in the
same installation. The MDS bus is common for all the decoders, regardless of their type. The connection between
the decoders and with the outdoor panel is implemented by means of a 4-cable+ twisted pair tubing (reference
FERMAX 5918). The connectors may be unplugged to make cable fastening easier.
Recommended:
• Maximum decoder bus distance (distance between the last decoder and the Panel or Central Unit) without
using repeaters is 1200 metres.
• Maximum number of decoders, without repeater, is 120.
Another very important detail to bear in mind is that the tension drop through the bus due to cable
resistance may mean that the devices do not function correctly. There is a table in the MDS system technical
manual with cable sections and distances.
The maximum distance between a decoder and a 2-wire telephone is 100 metres, with 0.5 mm
only possible to connect one 2-wire telephone (or monitor with alarms) per decoder line. In the future, a secondary
2-wire telephone will be designed, for when two terminals per dwelling are required.
