The following guidelines are to be read
through carefully and strictlyobserved.
This product, specially manufactured for
mountaineering and climbing as well as
skiing, does not release users from per-
sonal responsibility.
WARninG
Any user of Mammut equipment of any
kind is personally responsiblefor learning
its correct application and technique. The
user assumesall risks, and unconditionally
accepts full responsibility for any damage
and/or injuries that may result while using
Mammut equipment.The manufacturers
and specialist retailers deny any liability
in theevent of misuse and improper use
and/or handling. The present guidelines
are a helpful aid on the correct use of this
product. However, asit is not possible to
list all instances of incorrect application
and errorpossibilities, the guidelines can
never replace the user's own knowledge,
training, experience and personal respon-
sibility. By removing ormodifying original
parts, the helmet becomes unusable. Even
if youuse a helmet, there is a risk of seri-
ous to fatal injury occurring.
STORAGE And TRAnSPORT Optimum
storage conditions: Store in a dry, dark,
cool place, and notinside the shipping
containers. Protect from direct exposure,
chemical s,heat and mechanical damage.
ClEAninG Clean the soiled product in
lukewarm water using a neutral soap
or a littlemild washing agent, rinse
thoroughly and leave to dry away from
directsunlight. To clean, maintain or dis-
infect the helmet, only use substancesthat
have no detrimental effect on the helmet
or the wearer.
EffECT Of CHEmiCAlS And EnviROn-
mEnTAl influEnCES Contact with acids,
solvents and other reactive substances or
heatsources must be avoided at all costs.
Caution: aggressive chemicals (including
dye, solvents, gummed and selfadhesive
labels) and intense heat can impair the
properties of theproduct without any
external indications. Replace the product
immediately if it has been in contact with
such chemicals or heat.
ACCESSORiES Only use in combination
with other approved mountaineering and
climb ing equipment, and observe the cor-
responding guidelines.
SERviCE lifE And SEGREGATiOn The
helmet should be inspected thoroughly
before and after every use fordamage and
signs of wear and tear. The product's ser-
vice life depends on many factors such as
howoften it is used, where it is used, etc.
In principle the product is to bereplaced
immediately:
– after a hard fall
– after contact with aggressive chemicals
– For tears and bumps on the surface
of the helmet
– For tears on the chin strap, headband,
fastener and adjustment system
– in the event of excessive wear
– If it is heavily and irreversibly soiled
The product should be replaced at the lat-
est after 6 years of normaland expert use
and providing no serious damage has been
caused byoutside conditions
uSE Fitting your helmet:
The helmet's range of adjustment allows
you to adjust the helmet to different head
sizes and head coverings. After putting on
the helmet, it mustbe adjusted. Optimal pro-
tection is only achieved if the helmet is cor-
rectlyadjusted to the individual head size.
– Put the helmet on and adjust the head
band by using the adjustmentsystem,
until the helmet holds firmly and com-
fortably to the head (see fig. 1).
– By moving both the side clasps on the
bands, adjust the position ofthe chin
strap (see fig. 2). The band can also
be moved to the rear mounting point
in order to adjust correctly. It is impor-
tant that the helmet is positioned on
the head in such a way that it protects
the forehead area and does not slip
