ISO-TOP VW T5 California ist speziell für das Alumi-
nium-Aufstelldach dieser Fahrzeuge entwickelt und
passt nur bei diesen. Vor der Erstbefestigung muss
die Grundhalterung am Fahrzeug angebracht wer-
den.
1. Reinigung und Vorbereitung der Montagestellen
Die innere Aluminium-Basisumrandung (Rahmen) des
Faltenbalges ist mit dem beiliegenden Reinigungs-
tuch gründlich zu reinigen (vgl. Abb. 1).
Ebenso sind die oberen Enden (dunkler Kunststoff)
der hinteren, seitlichen „Segellatten" (dies sind die
senkrechten Faltführungen des Faltenbalges) zu rei-
nigen. Hierbei wird nur die aus dem Faltenbalgstoff
ca. 2 cm hervorragende Kunststofflatte gereinigt (vgl.
Abb. 4, Pfeil). Ebenfalls ist hinten, oben das lackierte
Aluminiumdach (gleich im Anschluss an den Textil-
verkleidungsteil) zu reinigen. Danach mindestens ca.
15 Minuten ablüften lassen und die gleichen Stellen
mit dem beiliegenden Primertuch vorbehandeln. Da-
nach nochmals ca. 15 Minuten ablüften lassen! Bitte
verwenden Sie hierbei Handschuhe und achten Sie
auf genügend Frischluftzufuhr!
Alle Klebearbeiten dürfen nur bei einer Umgebungs-
temperatur über 18 Grad Celsius erfolgen!
2. Anbringung des selbstklebenden Flauschbandes
Das beiliegende, selbstklebende Flauschband wird
rundherum auf den unteren Aluminium-Rahmen des
Faltenbalges so angebracht, dass es sich knapp un-
terhalb des Faltenbalgeinzuges befindet (vgl. Abb. 2).
Das Flauschband darf hierbei nur auf Metall aufge-
klebt werden und nicht auf den Faltenbalgstoff! Das
Flauschband muss möglichst fest auf den Unter-
grund aufgedrückt werden.
Zuletzt wird je ein passendes Stück Flauschband auf
die oberen, aus dem Faltenbalgstoff herausragenden
Kunststoffenden der seitlichen, hinteren Segellatten
aufgeklebt.
Nach dem Aufkleben des Flauschbandes darf dieses
mindestens 48 Stunden nicht belastet werden (ISO-
TOP noch nicht befestigen) und danach unbedingt
nochmals das Flauschband gut auf den Untergrund
aufdrücken.
3. Anbringung der Heckbefestigung (selbstkleben-
des Flauschband)
Ein passendes Stück Flauschband wird hinten oben
auf das lackierte Aludach aufgeklebt und fest ange-
drückt. Dadurch lässt sich das ISO-TOP hinten so-
wohl oben als auch unten dicht mit Klettverschluss
befestigen (vgl. Abb. 5).
4. ISO-TOP Befestigung
Die Befestigung erfolgt unten rundum mit Klettver-
schluss.
Oben wird ISO-TOP vorn mit Haken an den vorhan-
denen Ösen des Schutznetzes (vgl. Abb. 3) – das
Schutznetz kann weiterhin verwendet werden – und
hinten mit Klettverschluss am Aludach befestigt (vgl.
Abb 5). Seitlich, oben wird das angenähte Klettband-
teil an das angeklebte Flauschband der „Segellatte"
gedrü c kt (vgl. Abb. 4).
ACHTUNG: Beim ISO-TOP VW T5 California muss
man vor dem Absenken des Daches das ISO-TOP-
Bugfenster (vorn) offen lassen – mindestens halb
offen! Vorn langsam die Luft entweichen lassen (nicht
„stopfen"!) und vorsichtig das Fahrerhaus-Dachrollo
schließen! Das Dach ist immer nach dem Absenken
von außen auf korrektes Schließen zu überprüfen.
Falls es nicht richtig, rundum völlig bündig schließt:
ISO-TOP abnehmen.

ISO-TOP California T5 has been specially designed
for the aluminium pop-up roof of the VW T5 Califor-
nia, and therefore only fits into this vehicle. Before the
initial mounting, the basic fitting has to be attached
to the vehicle.
1. Cleaning and preparing the mounting surface
The interior aluminium basic frame of the bellows as
well as the upper endings (dark plastic) of the hind
lateral pleats of the bellows have to be cleaned tho-
roughly with the enclosed cleaning tissue (c.p. image
1). Thereby, only clean the plastic endings that pro-
trude approx. 2 cm from the gaiter (c.p. imagen 4,
arrow). The barnished aluminium roof in the upper
back (following the textile lining) has to be cleaned,
too. Air at least for approx. 15 minutes, then pretreat
the same spots with the enclosed primer tissue and
air again for approx. 15 minutes. At this, please use
gloves and see to sufficient air supply! All bondings
have to be done at an ambient air temperature above
18 degrees Celsius (= 64,4° F).
2. Attaching the selfadhesive hook-and-loop
fastener
Attach the enclosed selfadhesive frieze band all
around the inferior aluminium frame, just under the
entrance to the bellows (c.p. image 2). Hereby, attach
the frieze band only to the metal and not to the bel-
lows. Press the frieze band onto the surface as firmly
as possible. Finally, attach an adequate piece of
frieze band to the upper plastic endings of the lateral
hind battens that protrude from the gaiter. Do not
strain the frieze band for at least 48 hours (do not yet
attach ISO-TOP). Thereafter, press the frieze band
firmly onto the surface again.
3. Mounting the fixation at the rear end
(selfadhesive hook-and-loop fastener)
Apply an adequate piece of frieze band and firmly
press it onto the barnished alumimium surface in the
upper back end of the roof. Thereby, the ISO-TOP
can be densely attached to the roof with hook-and-
loop fastener in the upper as well as lower back end
(cp. image 5).
4. Attaching the ISO-TOP
Below, attach the ISO-TOP closely all around the roof
with hook-and-loop fastener. Above, at the front,
hook the ISO-TOP into the eyes of the child protec-
tion net (c.p. image 3; the child protection net can still
be used), and in the back, attach it to the frieze band
applied to the aluminium roof (c.p. image 5). Above,
on the sides, press the hook-and-loop tape which
has been sewed onto the ISO-TOP material onto the
frieze band attached to the batten (c.p. image 4).
ATTENTION: When closing the pop-up roof with at-
tached ISO-TOP VW T5 California, open the nose
window in the front (leave it at least half open). Let
the air escape steadily through the front window
(don't stuff the textile into the roof!) and cautiously
close the roller blind in the roof of the cabin. Please
always check from the outside whether the roof has
closed properly. In case it does not close properly,
please demount the ISO-TOP.
