Step 5:
With the free hand, the patient
pull the body of the hand wrap
towards the palm and secure it
firmly but comfortably to the
black hook tab. (5)
Step 6:
Instruct the patient to wrap the
band closest to the fingers around
the hand and secure it with one of
the included hook tabs. (6) The
band can be trimmed in length if
desired.
Step 7:
Instruct the patient to wrap the
band closest to the wrist around
the hand and wrist and secure it
with one of the included hook
tabs. (7) The band can be trimmed
in length if desired.
The circaid customizable hand
wrap has now been applied. (8a-b)
Note:
If the wrist band does not contour
comfortably to the base of the
hand, additional material can be
trimmed from the middle of the
hand wrap (see Step 2). You will
achieve an optimal fit if the body
of the hand wrap covers the hook
tab with just a small amount of
excess fabric (9). Never trim so
much material that the body of
the hand wrap does not cover the
hook tab.
Doffing instructions
Instruct the patient to detach all
bands starting at the wrist band.
Fold each band back onto itself to
keep the hook material lint free.
Gently unfasten the material
hooked together at the palm and
remove the hand wrap
completely. Leave all hook tabs in
place to ease the next application.
