2.10. POSTHERPETIC NEURALGIA DEX. TH5-TH7 (TENS)

1. General: Application of a comfortable form of TENS current for pain relief.
2. Indication: Pain in the affected segments, which is still present 30 day after eruption of the vesi-
cles.
3. Treatment time: 30 min.
4. Remarks: No DC component, the risk for electrochemical damage (chemical burn) is minimal.
5. Programme: BF.ASYM., 75 µs, 100 Hz, 30 min.
6. Sensation: Prickling tingling.
7. Intensity level: Up to patients tolerance level.

2.11. DEEP PAIN: ACUTE PHASE (MF)

1. General: Programme for pain relief by means of two medium frequency alternating currents,
causing interference (four-polar interferential).
2. Indication: Treatment of deeply felt pain (e.g. joint pain) at an acute stage.
3. Treatment time: 20 minutes.
4. Remarks: No DC component, the risk for electrochemical damage (chemical burn) is minimal.
5. Programme: IF, 4p, 10 kHz, AMF 100 Hz, frequency sweep 50 Hz, sweep cycle 6/6, 20 min.
6. Sensation: Comfortable, rhythmically alternating stimulation from mild (100Hz) to strong (150 Hz).
7. Intensity level: Just perceptible (sensoric stimulation).
