SELECT A SUITABLE POSITION FOR
INSTALLATION
FIG.8
The reel should be allowed to
swivel through 180 degrees. Allow
40cm clearance on both sides of
the wall bracket.
If the hose is to be used around a
corner, mount the reel at least 1m
from the corner and use a hose
guide, part No. 2392, which is not
supplied.
FIXING THE WALL BRACKET
FIG.9
The 4 plugs and screws supplied
are for use on standard brick,
concrete or timber walls only. To
fix the bracket to any other
surface, you should use screws and
plugs appropriate for that surface.
A template is supplied, on the box,
to help align the screw hole
positions.
INSTALLING THE REEL
FIG.10
Align the back of the reel with the
wall bracket and insert the grey
pivot tube.
Attach the remaining hose end
connector to the free end of the
feeder hose.
Attach the threaded tap connector
to your tap and connect the feeder
hose to it.
OPERATING THE SAFETY LOCK
FIG.11
The safety lock has 2 functions:
1. To stop the hose being pulled
out when fully re-wound
2. To stop accidental rewind when
the product is in use.
-To operate the safety lock turn
the lever on the outside of the
reel.
WARNING!
Do not operate the safety lock
while the reel is turning.
USING THE REEL SAFELY
1. To unwind the hose, disengage
the safety lock, take hold of the
hose and walk away from the reel.
2. The reel has an automatic
ratchet to hold the hose in place
at the required length. You will
hear 5 ratchet 'clicks' everytime
the internal drum rotates. When
the hose is at the required length,
stop and slowly pull the hose until
you hear one of the 5 clicks.
The hose is now held. At this point
you can engage the safety lock if
required.
3. If you need more hose,
disengage the lock if necessary,
take hold of the hose and walk
away from the reel, repeating the
automatic latching procedure.
4. The automatic ratchet is
released by pulling the hose away
from the reel past the 5 ratchet
clicks. The hose must be walked
back to the reel. If the hose does
not completely rewind, pull out
some hose and walk back again.
SAFETY:
DO NOT:
- Let go of the hose while
rewinding.
- Let go of the hose unless the
automatic ratchet mechanism is
engaged.
- Attempt to remove any screws
from any part of the casing.
DO:
- Remove the reel from the wall in
winter to prevent frost damage.
- Ensure the ground below the reel
is kept as dry as possible to
minimise the risk of slipping.
- Turn the tap off when not in use.
