Align the top half to the bottom half maintaining an equal gap on both sides of the sleeve while the
sleeve halves are drawn together as shown in Figure 7. Achieve a tight and uniform fit by utilizing
various ratchet straps, chain clamps with jackscrew, or hydraulic rams. Gap blocks or shims, as
shown in Figure 8 can be used to help maintain an equal longitudinal weld gap while the fitting is
pulled together. These must be removed prior to completing welding.
8.
Multiple Sole+Mates can be used together to cover longer distances than the maximum length that
a single Sole+Mates can be manufactured to. This can be accomplished in two ways:
a. Make continuous by butt-welding them together.
