19. Maintain tools with care. Keep tools and accessories sharp and clean for effective and safe performance. Follow the
instructions for lubricating and changing accessories. Inspect pneumatic air supply periodically and replace if damaged.
Keep the vertical grip and the tool body dry, clean, and free from oil and grease.
20. Disconnect tools when not in use, before servicing, and when changing accessories.
21. Before each use, check for damaged or broken parts, alignment or binding of moving parts, or mounting, and any other
conditions that may affect operation of the tool. Never use the tool if it is damaged or misaligned in any way. All dam-
aged safety guards, throttle levers, or other damaged parts must be repaired or replaced by an authorized service tech-
nician, unless otherwise indicated elsewhere in this Instruction Manual. Never use this tool if the throttle lever is broken.
Service
22. All tool service must be performed only by qualified repair personnel at the dealer from which you purchased the tool.
Allowing unqualified personnel to perform service or maintenance could result in injury to the operator and/or damage
to the tool.
23. When servicing this tool, use only identical replacement parts. Using unauthorized parts or failing to follow Maintenance
Instructions will void warranties and create a risk of injury.
Warning
The dust created by stripping certain materials may contain chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects or other
reproductive harm. Some examples of these chemicals are:
• Lead from lead-based paint,
• Crystalline silica from bricks and cement and other masonry products, and
• Arsenic and chromium from chemically treated lumber.
To reduce your exposure to these chemicals, always:
• Work in a well ventilated area, and
• Wear OSHA-approved safety equipment, including dust masks specially designed to filter out microscopic particles,
gloves, safety goggles, and other appropriate personal protective gear.
