Central shutter
The LEICA APO-MACRO-SUMMARIT-S 1:2.5/120mm is available in two versions: with and wi-
thout a built-in central, or leaf shutter. You can use the master switch on the camera to spe-
cify whether you want to use the camera's internal focal plane shutter or the central shutter
on corresponding lenses. The central shutter provides particularly short flash sync speeds (for
further details, refer to the relevant sections in the camera manual).
Focusing
In autofocus mode, the focus is set automatically by the camera and in manual mode by
turning the distance setting ring (3; for fur ther details, refer to the relevant sections in the
camera manual).

Depth of field

As Leica S lenses do not have an aperture ring, there is no depth of field scale. Refer to the
table on p. 74–75 for the corresponding values.
