9. Operation of the FINODOSIL Dosing and Mixing Unit
9.1. Before Operation
9.1.1. Information regarding the selection of silicone
Please use only high quality duplicating silicones. Inhomogeneous viscosities and filler distributions in the
single components can lead to a deviation from the ideal 1:1 ratio due to abrasion in the pump housing. This
may cause time-consuming and cost-intensive repairs. We recommend using FINOSIL Duplicating Silicones.
9.1.2. Preparation of the silicone containers
Alternatively 1 kg bottles, material reservoirs or cubitainers can be connected to the FINODOSIL Dosing and
Mixing Unit.
9.1.3. Bottles
Open the bottles with the components A and B and screw on bottle adapter.
Attention: Screw coloured bottle adapter only onto the bottle filled with coloured silicone mass –
component B.
9.1.4. Silicone containers
The colour-marked containers, which have already been equipped with a quick-coupling, are optionally
available. The coloured silicone component has to be filled into the colour-marked container.
9.1.5. Connection of canisters
Replace the original caps of the canisters with the optionally available connection hoses and fasten them
handtight. For future canister changes please note that each connection hose must absolutely be used for
the same silicone component again.
The other side of the connection hose can now be connected to the unit using the adapters. Turn the
canisters upside down and position them above the machine (a compatible support stand is also available).
Press the connection hoses onto the adapters (5) until they noticeably snap into place.
Attention: Keep the two silicone components always separated – do not interchange connections!
In case the two components have been mixed the silicone cures in the unit which makes considerable repairs
necessary.

9.2. Getting Started
9.2.1. Filling the unit
The FINODOSIL Dosing and Mixing Unit is delivered ex-works with testing liquid in the system. When putting
the unit into service this liquid is produced by touching the button until the duplicating material reaches the
hoses.
Remove the lock caps from the coupling plugs (no. 19). Press the quick-coupling/bottle adapter of the
silicone containers onto the coupling plugs of the unit and let them snap-on.
Attention! The components A and B have to be connected according to the printing on the unit and the
applied colour marking.
Cut an opening of approx. 0.5 cm² into the bottoms of the cubitainers in order to let air come in when
producing. Remove protection cap from mixing head (no. 4) and do not reuse. Turn the unit on with the main
switch (no. 1). Put a reception bowl under the mixing head and press push-button (no. 2). Keep the push-
button pressed until the test silicone has been dispensed completely and both components are fed homo-
geneously at the mixing head.
