2. SAFETY FEATURES
Your Kohler Power Lite system contains the following safety
features.
S
The plug-in pump and permanently wired toilets are
UL Listed for safety. The fill valve is IAPMO
approved for use in this system.
S
The pump motor and circuit board are contained in
a sealed housing separate from the impeller (which
propels the water). The motor turns the impeller by
a magnetic coupling. This ensures a separation
between the impeller and the motor with electronic
controls. There are no gaskets or O-rings that can
wear out, allowing water to leak into the motor
compartment.
3. CARE AND CLEANING
A. VITREOUS CHINA TOILETS
Clean the outside surface of your vitreous china product with
mild soap and warm water. Wipe the entire surface
completely dry with a clean, soft cloth. Many cleaners
contain harsh chemicals, such as ammonia, which can
damage the finish. Do not use those cleaners.
If the surface of your vitreous china product becomes
excessively dirty, you can use a general purpose cleaner
such as: FantastikR, LysolR Foaming Disinfectant, Dow
Bathroom Cleaner Liquid, Scrub FreeR Soap Scum
Remover, Soft ScrubR, Spic and Span, or Mr. CleanR.
If you live in a hard water area, make certain that the holes
in the toilet rim are kept clean to ensure proper operation.
Use a toilet bowl cleaner at least once a week. Use a
long-handled brush to clean the fixture rim holes. Also use
the long-handled brush to clean as far into the trap of your
toilet as possible to prevent mineral deposits from forming.
Most toilet bowl cleaners are not harmful to the vitreous
china surface of your vitreous china fixture. Please follow the
bowl cleaner manufacturer's instructions carefully.
Do not use abrasive cleansers or solvents.
WARNING: Risk
damage. Do not use in-tank cleaners. Products
containing chlorine (calcium hypochlorite) can
seriously damage fittings in the tank. This damage
can cause leakage and property damage.
Kohler Company shall not be responsible or liable for any
tank fitting damage caused by the use of cleaners
containing chlorine (calcium hypochlorite).

S
Your new Power Lite toilet is designed to typically be
flushed once every 70 seconds. This feature
assures adequate time for the tank to fill with water
and provides consistent operation of the Power Lite
motor. However, a second flush can be made 35
seconds after the first flush. If you activate the
second flush at this interval, you must wait 105
seconds to activate a third flush. If you attempt to
flush a third time before the 105 seconds have
elapsed, the toilet will not flush. This is normal
operation.
S
An overflow slot between the tank and bowl allows
water to drain into the bowl and out the trapway if the
water level in the tank becomes too high.
B. PLASTIC TOILET SEATS
When cleaning the toilet seat, follow the cleaner
manufacturer's instructions carefully. Make sure the cleaner
is safe for plastics. Make sure you immediately wipe off any
cleaner that may remain on the seat. This is especially
important around the hinge areas and bumpers of the toilet
seat. An application of a furniture polish safe for plastics will
restore the gloss to plastic toilet seats. Do not use cleaners
containing alcohol or pine oil as they may cause damage.
