2. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
2.1) Setting
The head is supplied with an automatic, quick fit male coupler suitable for connection to
a hydraulic, pneumatic or electrical pump from the Cembre range.
2.2) Positioning
– Select the appropriate die set.
Two styles of die set are available:
Die Sets for cutting contact wire:
the die profile matches the profile of the contact wire.
Die Sets for cutting conductor:
the die profile matches the profile of the conductor.
– Insert the die set into the head (see § 2.5).
– Position the conductor inside the die set so that the blade (10) lines up with the desired
cutting point.
– Close the die set (see Fig. 3) by moving the Locking Handle (17) towards the tool body,
until automatically 'locked' in position and securely clamping the wire/conductor (see Fig. 4).
– Operate the pump to advance the blade (10) to the conductor (see Fig. 5).
Before proceeding with the cutting operation, ensure that the Locking Pin (02) is fully
inserted in the head and the Locking Handle (17) is securely locked in position.
Check that the cutting edge of the blade coincides with the desired cutting point; if
not open the dies, by releasing the Locking Handle (17) and repositioning the wire
conductor.
