Inlet supply line to the mixing valve is being
shared by other pieces of equipment that
are used only periodically, such as laundry
appliances or washdown stations. It may
reduce the inlet pressure to the mixing valve
to less than 3 PSI. The supply line size may
not be large enough to supply both the valve
and the other appliances.
Both the cold and hot inlet pressures are not

Both the cold and hot inlet temperatures are
not within the specifications.
Piston does not move freely and must be

Solution
Replace the NPT joints and/or O-rings where necessary. For
replacement of O-rings, contact your Bradley representative
and to order O-Ring Kit (S65-170).
Tighten the screws using a Phillips screwdriver. To replace
O-rings, contact your Bradley representative to order Check Valve
Kit (S65-502).
Inspect thermostat:
1. Remove the top cap and the thermostat.
2. Insert the 5/16" dia. push rod into the thermostat bellows.
3. Mark the length that the push rod extends into the
bellows when at room temperature with 10 lb. force.
The length should be approximately 15/16" – 1-3/16".
4. If the push rod length is not within the above range,
replace the thermostat; it cannot be repaired. Contact
your Bradley representative to order Thermostat Kit
(S65-171).
Replace Check Valves:
Refer to the exploded view for Check Valve Replacement on
page 10.
1. Remove the screws on the flanges and separate the
two valve sections.
2. Use needle nose pliers to remove the outside check
valves, and then drop out the two spacers.
3. Use Extraction Tool (130-150) or a tool with a small
hook tip to remove the check valves inside.
4. DISCARD THE REMOVED CHECK VALVES. Contact
your Bradley representative to order the Check Valve
Kit (S65-502).
5. Install the new check valves and spacers inside water
passages. Verify the check valve orientation is correct
per the exploded view for Check Valve Replacement on
page 10.
Replace the check valves as described above.
be repaired. Contact your Bradley representative to order
Thermostat Kit (S65-171).
Increase hot water supply temperature.
Enlarge the supply line size, reconfigure the supply line, or
regulate the supply usage.
The pressure difference between hot and cold shall not be
more than 3 PSI when the flow rate is 5 GPM or higher. When
water flows at minimum of 1.5 GPM, the pressure difference
shall not be more than 1 PSI.
See "Eyewash Temperature Adjustment" on page 6 to
adjust both the cold and hot inlet temperatures.
See "Troubleshooting: Piston Disassembly and Cleaning" on
page 9 for piston disassembly and cleaning instructions.
