Never carry out service work, electrical or mechanical, without disconnecting
the mains voltage using the switch-disconnectors. Lock the switch-
disconnectors if necessary.
The equipment room should be ventilated, see Site.
A vacuum installation creates a powerful vacuum that can seriously injure eyes
and ears in the event of contact with a suction opening, for example, a hose
coupling. Persons that in some way come into contact with the unit should be
informed of this.
An exhaust air duct should be connected that leads off the hot exhaust air
to the outside. The exhaust air can contain toxic gases and dust particles.
Consequently, the duct should lead to where this type of discharge is
permitted.
The duct should be positioned and designed so that objects cannot fall down
into the unit, which would then be seriously damaged. Never look into the
exhaust air duct. If dust is thrown out of the exhaust air duct it can cause
serious injury to the eyes or other body parts.
An approved protective mask should be used when emptying the collector bin
and when replacing filters in the dust collector and micro-filter.
The unit should be anchored to the floor, particularly if it stands high, to
prevent it from "walking" and falling over. The frame has four holes for
anchoring.
Some types of dust can cause a dust explosion and/or fire. Checks should be
made prior to installation whether the dust to be picked up by the system
constitutes a risk. Any risk can affect the choice of setup area and can, in
some cases, result in the need to modify the unit. The choice of pipe work can
significantly influence the risk of a dust explosion, see the Connections section.
Self-ignition can occur with certain types of dust. Under no circumstances may
magnesium and titanium dust be sucked up into the system. Accumulated
welding fumes from ordinary steel welding do not self-ignite, but can be
ignited by a cigarette sucked into the system. A fire in accumulated welding
fumes does not spread quickly but it is hard to extinguish.
Always replace damaged, worn or defective electrical components or other
parts with new original parts.
The vacuum unit L-PAK is CE-marked. Connections to the unit, commissioning
and maintenance should be carried out in accordance with this manual.

General

The vacuum unit L-PAK is primarily used for the local extraction of dust when,
for example, grinding, cutting and for vapours/gases when welding and for
general cleaning of benches, floors and the like.
The dusty air is sucked up via a pipe system into the unit and is cleaned. The
dust is collected in a bin and the cleaned air is sucked via the filter and fan out
from the premises.
The unit is controlled via an integrated start and control unit.
