OPERATING PRECAUTIONS

The blowing wind through the microphone may cause
additional noise. When using this device in the wind, it is
necessary for you to use the fi lter to make sure that the wind
does not affect your measurement.
•
Calibrate the device before using it in case it has not been
used for an extended period of time or has been used in
diffi cult environmental situations
•
Do not store or operate this device in places with high
temperatures or high relative humidity
•
Keep the microphone dry and in places with no vibrations
•
Remove the batteries and store the device when you will not
be using it for an extended period of time.
MEASUREMENTS
1. Press the power button. The LCD screen will display the
predetermined range (40-90 dB). The LCD screen will also
display the current sound level.
2. If the screen displays the words UNDER or OVER, this
indicates that the sound level is below or above the 40-90 dB
range, thus making the measurement invalid. You need to adjust
the measurement range to the correct position.
3. Adjust the range. Press ▼ ▲ in order to select the desired
range. When the LCD screen displays UNDER, this indicates
that the range is high and you will need to press LEVEL▼.
When the LCD screen displays OVER, this indicates that the
range is low and you will need to press LEVEL▲.
4. When you are going to make a measurement of general noise,
you can select option A (A/C button). If you wish to measure
sound levels with acoustic material, select C. The LCD screen
will display the selected option.
5. When you wish to obtain a real-time sound measurement,
select FAST by pressing the FAST/SLOW button. In order to
obtain average sound measurement, select SLOW.
6. When you need to obtain the maximum sound value, press
the MAX button. The LCD screen will display MAX
7. If you need to make measurements at night, press the RS232
button and the LCD screen's backlight will illuminate.
