KombiTool
WARNING
■ To reduce the risk of serious laceration injuries:
– Keep hands, feet and other parts of your
body away from the KombiTool and its
blades.
– Never touch the moving blades with your
hand or any other part of your body.
■ To reduce the risk of personal injury to bystanders and
unauthorized users:
– Never leave the power tool unattended.
■ Although certain unauthorized blades may fit your
KombiTool, their use may be extremely dangerous.
– Use only blades supplied or expressly approved by
STIHL.
– Never modify this KombiTool in any way.
– Never use a KombiTool that has been modified or
altered from its original design.
– For a list of KombiEngines/KombiMotors authorized
by STIHL for your unit, see Chapter @ 19 of this
instruction manual or the STIHL "Cutting
Attachments, Parts & Accessories" catalog,
available from your dealer or www.stihlusa.com.
■ If the power tool is dropped or subjected to similar heavy
impacts:
– Check that it is undamaged, in good condition and
functioning properly before continuing work.
– Check that the controls and safety devices are
working properly.
– Never work with a damaged or malfunctioning power
tool. In case of doubt, have the power tool checked
by your authorized STIHL servicing dealer.

6 IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
■ If the power tool is damaged, not working properly, has
been left outdoors or dropped into water or other liquid, its
components may no longer function properly and safety
devices may be inoperative. To reduce the risk of personal
injury and property damage:
– Take the power tool to your authorized STIHL
servicing dealer to be checked before further
operation.
■ Genuine STIHL replacement parts are specifically
designed to match your power tool and meet safety and
performance requirements. Use of parts that are not
authorized or approved by STIHL may cause serious or
fatal injury or property damage.
– STIHL recommends that only identical replacement
parts be used.

Using the Power Tool
6.5.1
Before Operation
WARNING
■ Misuse or unauthorized use may result in personal injury
and property damage.
– Use the power tool only as described in this
instruction manual and the instruction manual for
your KombiEngine/KombiMotor.
■ The KombiTool must be properly installed and tightened
before starting work. Failure to use the proper parts to
mount the KombiTool and its blades will increase the risk
of personal injury to the operator and bystanders.
– Read and follow the instructions on mounting the
KombiTool and its blades in this instruction manual.
– Never mount the blades to the KombiTool without
the proper installation of all required parts (e.g.,
screws, rider plate, etc.).
– Before starting work, inspect for loose parts (nuts,
screws, etc.) and for cracked, bent, warped or
damaged blades.
– Replace damaged blades before using the power
tool.
