1. Jaws
Used to clamp the conductor to be tested.
2. LED
After you turn on the Current Probe, this LED will light if the battery is
high enough. If this LED does not light, the battery is low and must be
replaced immediately.
3. Zero Adjustment Thumbwheel
Used to make zero adjustment before dc current measurement.
4. Trigger
Used to open/close the jaws.
5. Range Switch
Used to turn on/off the Current Probe as well as to select desired
range.
There are 3 positions for this switch:
• OFF position: Turns off the the Current Probe
• 400A range position: Output sensitivity of 1mV/A
• 1500A range position: Output sensitivity of 0.1mV/A.
6. AC/DC Switch
Used to select dc or ac function, as indicated by the marks beside this
switch.
7. Tactile Barrier
Used to prevent finger from touching the conductor under test. Do not
hold the Current Probe anywhere beyond the tactile barrier.
8. Output Plugs
The two output plugs are to be inserted into the voltage input terminals
of the multimeter. (The black output plug must be inserted into the
«COM» terminal of the multimeter.)
9. Jaw Wear Indicator
Warning: To avoid injury, do not use the Current Probe if the wear
indicator in the jaw opening is not visible.
