HOW TO OPERATE

1.
Before first use, unpack RETRO SERIES™ FLIP WAFFLE MAKER.
2.
Find a clean, dry, non-slippery, level surface near an electrical outlet.
3.
Allow about eight inches of clear space all around the exterior of the unit.
4.
Turn Handle to the left and lift Handle to open the unit.
5.
Lift the Handle to open the unit.
6.
Wipe down all surfaces with a non-abrasive, damp cloth and dry.
7.
Place the Drip Tray on the Stand.
8.
The upper and lower plates of the Nonstick Griddle should be lightly coated with a
small amount of vegetable oil. This can be applied with a paper towel. The oil will help
protect the griddle. This should be done periodically to maintain the nonstick quality.
9.
Close unit by lowering Handle and plug the cord into the wall outlet.
10. Turn temperature control to desired temperature setting, from MIN to MAX.
11. The red Indicator Light will turn on, indicating that the unit is on and heating.
12. Preheat the appliance for a minimum of 3-5 minutes.
13. When the unit has reached desired temperature, the green Indicator
Light will illuminate, indicating that the unit is ready for cooking.
14. During this time, you may notice slight smoking or a slight odor; this is normal with most
new appliances. The smoking and odor is caused by the residues burning off the Nonstick
Griddle. Allow the appliance to preheat until smoke and odor no longer exists. It may take
a few uses for the excess residues from the nonstick coating to burn off completely.
15. While the appliance is preheating, you may prepare the
ingredients for the food to be cooked.
16. NEVER leave the appliance unattended.
17. When you are ready to pour batter into the Nonstick Griddle, open the unit and pour ¾
to 1 cup of batter into the center of the bottom griddle. You can help spread the batter
so that it fills the bottom griddle by using a heat-resistant plastic or wooden utensil.
18. Batter should be spread evenly across the four sections of
the bottom griddle. DO NOT overflow the batter.
19. Close the griddle and wait for five seconds, then rotate the Handle to the
right. Make sure that you are wearing an oven mitt at all times.
