8 Returning and Disposing of the Defective Assembly

15. Reassign the previously noted specific settings or values to the inverter via a communication
product.
16. For inverters equipped with firmware version ≥ 3.00.00.R: Check whether the country data set
that has been noted down and any differing parameter settings are correct. If the settings are
not correct, adjust the settings and check again.
17. Ensure that the inverter feeds in correctly.
• Check which firmware version is installed on the inverter (see the inverter manual) and
whether a current firmware version is available. If necessary, update the firmware version.
Pay attention to the following: If the current firmware version is 2.xx.xx and the system is
an existing system, do not update to a version higher than firmware version 2.99.99.R.
Otherwise, the parameter designations change and the settings of the system control must
be completely redone.
• If the inverter is registered in a communication product or Sunny Portal, replace the
inverter in the communication product or Sunny Portal (see installation manual
"Replacement of SMA Devices in Systems with Communication Products" and where
necessary the replacement assistant in Sunny Portal at www.SMA-Solar.com).
8 Returning and Disposing of the Defective Assembly
If the defective assembly is to be returned, this will be stated on the order form.
Procedure:
1. If the defective assembly is to be returned:
• Pack the defective assembly for shipping. Use the original packaging for this, or
packaging that is suitable for the weight and size of the assembly.
• Organize the return shipment to SMA Solar Technology AG. Contact the Service.
2. If the assembly is not to be returned, dispose of the assembly in accordance with the locally
applicable disposal regulations for electronic waste.
