GENERAL INFORMATION

The riveting tool is designed for repairing or riveting of timing chains. The new timing chain will be
pulled over the sprockets with the help of the old chain and eventually gets riveted, thus making any
disassembly of the timing chain box unnecessary.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Do not use the tool with any of its parts missing or damaged.
Remove the ignition key before you start your repair job in order to avoid any unintentional
starting of the engine which would result in an engine damage.
This instruction manual is intended to provide you with some basic information and does not by
any means substitute a repair shop manual.
Always use vehicle specific service manuals. Use it to look up technical data such as torque
values, information on disassembly/assembly, etc.
USE
1. Link the new timing chain to the old timing chain (4) using
the mounting link consisting of chain joint (6), plate (7) and
clasp (8).
2. Remove the fixing bolts.
3.
Rotate the crankshaft slowly in direction of rotation of the engine
4. Pull the end of the old timing chain that comes free evenly
out of the timing chain box to the same extent as the new
timing chain is getting pulled inside. Note: make sure that
the timing chain does not skip while it is being rotated.
5. Take off the old timing chain.
6. Connect the ends of the new timing chain with the riveting
link (9) and centre plate (10).
