On-line analyzing systems work best if the sample flow is stable.
The SWAN Back Pressure Regulator provides a stable sample
feed pressure, assuring stable flow rates to instruments, even if the
incoming amount of sample largely varies. This guarantees accu-
rate and stable measurements.
Design The Swan Back Pressure Regulator is designed for the specific
needs of water/steam sampling and analysis. The operating princi-
philosophy
ple is the following:
Flow and pressure control are split: Flow is restricted with a needle
valve and pressure is regulated with a back-pressure regulator
(BPR) placed at the distribution point to analyzers. Pressure is reg-
ulated by discharging excess sample flow through the BPR.
Through this pressure regulation the sample flow at the outlets [G]
is stable, whereas the excess sample [E] varies.

Note: The shut off valves are not intended for flow regulation.
For flow regulation use the flow regulation valve at the
instrument.
