6. The pump will operate for the count value entered. Watch to make sure that reagent is pulled
through both lines to the pump manifold.
7. If needed, repeat the purge cycle and increase the counts as needed.
8. When the purge operation is complete, push ENTER to put the instrument in run mode.
Prime the instrument manually
In typical use, the instrument will prime automatically after the air purge. If air remains in the reagent
line after the purge, do the steps in this procedure.
1. Use the supplied tool to open the upper enclosure.
2. Go to INSTRUMENT SETUP>MAINTENANCE>PURGE REAGENT LINES.
3. Push ENTER to put the instrument in standby.
4. Make sure that both reagent tubes go to the bottom of the reagent bottles.
5. Disconnect the reagent delivery tube from the front of the colorimeter. Refer to
on page 6.
6. Connect the supplied syringe to the disconnected end of the reagent delivery tube.
7. Set the instrument to purge the reagent lines with a minimum of five cycles.
8. Start the purge cycle. While the pump operates, gently pull the plunger of the syringe to pull the
reagent through the pump. Solution should run through both tubes and into the syringe.
9. When the purge cycle stops, remove the syringe from the end of the reagent delivery tube.
10. Connect the reagent delivery tube to the colorimeter.
11. Dispose of the reagent in the syringe. Refer to the MSDS and local regulations for disposal
information.
Note: Do not add the reagent in the syringe back to either reagent bottle.
12. When the purge operation is complete, push ENTER to put the instrument in run mode.

Configure the instrument setup
In the instrument setup menu, the user can configure basic instrument functions. For hazardous
locations, the manufacturer recommends the use of remote commands through the ballast water
control system.
1. Go to INSTRUMENT SETUP>CONFIGURATION.
2. Configure the items shown.
