CHECKING CHAIN LUBRICATION

NOTICE:
Ensure oil tank of the
chain saw has been filled with proper
volume of chain oil. Ensure the oil is
the recommended translucent yellow,
translucent red or colorless translucent.
1. Ensure the kickback brake paddle is
set to position.
2. Hold the guide bar above a light-colored surface.
3. Switch on the saw.
You will see a clear line of oil on the light-colored surface after 1 minute, if chain
lubrication is operating properly.
4. If chain oil is still not visible on the light colored surface, refer to the section
"ADJUSTING OIL FLOW" to adjust it.
NOTICE:
If necessary, check the oil channel in the guide bar and the groove in the
edge of the guide bar. Make sure they are clean without any blockage. Clean them if
necessary.

Before using the chain saw,
please check following points:

Check the wear marks on the
chain sprocket – if wear marks
are deeper than 0.5 mm: contact
your EGO service dealer to replace
the chain sprocket. Also check the
braking system – if wear marks on
the brake lining are uneven, contact your EGO service dealer to replace the brake
lining (Fig. 34).
