CD Installation
Have the LSI21320 driver diskette available for inserting into the A:

drive when prompted.
NOTE: Read Steps 2 and 3 before performing the instructions contained
within these steps.
Start the Windows NT 4.0 installation by booting from the Windows

NT CD.
For Intel-based systems, the system BIOS must support booting from
a CD. BIOS settings may need to be changed to allow CD booting.
Press <F6> when the screen displays

your computer's hardware configuration..."
NOTE: You must press <F6> in order for the new driver to be recognized.
Otherwise, the system does not recognize the devices controlled by the driver
during the Windows setup.
Choose S to specify an additional device when the screen displays

"Setup could not determine the type of one or more mass
storage devices...".
NOTE: If this screen is not displayed as the first user input, then the <F6>
key press was not seen by the setup program. Reboot the system and try again.
The system prompts for the manufacturer-supplied hardware support
disk.
Insert the LSI21320 driver diskette containing the Windows NT

device driver required to support the LSI21320 host adapter and press
<Enter>.
Press <Enter>.

Windows NT 4.0 should now recognize the miniport driver and the

SCSI hardware. Press <Enter>.
Follow the Windows NT 4.0 installation procedure at this point.

Install the Windows NT 4.0 Service Packs 5 or higher after Windows

NT 4.0 has been installed.
Existing System Installation
To install the SYMMPI.SYS miniport driver, follow these steps:
Boot Windows NT 4.0 and log on as Administrator.
