D. Dethatching on Flat Surfaces
1 . Set fl ail depth such that they just touch a fl at surface, such as pavement .
Disengage tines from ground only when machine is on a fl at surface .
NEVER DISENGAGE TINES WHEN TRAVELLING UP OR DOWN INCLINES .
DANGER . Do not touch rotating tines
DO NOT SET FLAILS LOWER THAN NECESSARY! Lower fl ail settings will produce neither better results nor
speedup the dethatching process . Inappropriate fl ail settings will cause premature wear on the unit, such as
failed drive belts .
