Unpack the device and check it for complete delivery
contents and transport damage.
NOTE
The batteries (optional; depending on the delivery
scope) are not fully charged on delivery. Before first
use, fully charge the batteries. See charger instruc-

Use
Height adjustment (Abb. 3)
Undo the union nut (4) until the grass trimmer handle can
be moved in and out freely. Now set the required working
height and secure the handle in this position by tightening
the union nut again.
Adjusting the additional handle (Abb. 4)
Undo the adjustment lock for the additional handle until it
can be moved forwards and backwards without any great

Operation
To obtain maximum performance from your grass
trimmer, please follow these instructions:
•
Never use the grass trimmer without the guard.
Do not mow grass when it is wet. The best results
•
are achieved with dry grass.
Do not allow the grass trimmer near the grass until
•
the switch is pressed, i.e. the grass trimmer is in
operation.
To cut properly, swing the machine sideways while
•
moving forwards. Keep the grass trimmer inclined
at an angle of approx. 30° while you do so .
If the grass is long, the grass must be cut shorter
•
in stages, starting from the tip.
Use the guard hood to prevent unnecessary wear.
•
•
To avoid unnecessary wear, keep the grass trimmer
away from hard
objects.
Turning on/off (Fig. 1)
•
In order to turn your lawn trimmer on, press the
dead man switch (1) and the on/off switch (2
Always have one hand on the auxiliary handle (12).
•
In order to turn the lawn trimmer off, release the
•
on/off switch (2).
Using the grass trimmer as an edge trimmer
(Abb.5/6)
To cut the edges of lawns and fl ower beds, the grass
trimmer can be converted as follows:
• Remove the battery pack
• Fold the edge guide (9) upwards.
• Push the locking button (5) upwards.
• Turn the motor head through 90° in the required di-
rection until it latches in place(Abb.5).
• You can convert your lawn trimmer into an edge trim-
mer this way and carry out vertical cutting of the lawn.
• When edge trimming, use the device's two guide
wheels (Fig. 6/Pos. 6+10).
• To convert the equipment back to its original state,
proceed in reverse order.
Extending the cutting thread
Warning! Do not use metal wire or plastic-coated
metal wire of any kind in the spool. This can lead to
severe injuries to the user.
To extent the cutting thread, keep the device running
and tap the spool on the ground. The thread will be ex-
tended automatically. The blade on the safety screen
shortens the thread to the approved length.
Replacing the cutting thread (Fig. 7-9)
Hold on to the casing (f) and, at the same time, turn
•
the lid (g) anti-clockwise and remove it.
Remove the casing spool (h) and spring.
•
Replace the thread (i), insert the spool (h) and
•
spring, and, at the same time, pull the thread
through the opening. Replace the lid (g) by turning
it clockwise and holding on to the casing
Sharpening the cutting blade (Fig. 6)
•
Loosen the cutting blade's (l) cross-head screws
(k) from the protective hood (7).
Put the cutting blade (l) into a vice.
•
Using a flat file, sharpen the edge of the cutting
•
blade (l)
Make sure that the original cutting angle is main-
•
tained.
