2.2 - INSTRUCTIONS TO ASSEMBLE THE
WOOD-BURNING FURNACE
Thermostatic safety and coil valves
The wood-burning furnace can be installed with
a safety system designed to release any excess
heat from the device in the event of a failure of
the pump or hydraulic circuit pumps. This safety
system uses a sounding line (not supplied) that
measures the temperature of the water inside the
boiler. If the temperature reaches 97ºC, the shut-
off valve will automatically open permitting the
entry of cold water through the coil (Fig. 1).
The sounding line that activates this shut-off valve
is fitted on the ½" coupling situated on the side of
the boiler, as shown in Fig 2.
The use of the coil is not recommended for the
production of domestic hot water.
NOTE FOR THE INSTALLATION ENGINEER:
The nominal working pressure is from 1 to 1,5 bar.
The water-tightness of the boiler has been verified
in the factory at 3,5 bar.
Before connecting the furnace to the hydraulic
installation, ensure that the latter is water tight at
a pressure of 3,5 bar. Never connect the furnace
directly to the circuit.
IMPORTANT. To connect the heating coil for
the temperature discharge, fasten the soldered
couplings to the boiler with a wrench to prevent
them from turning and the tube from becoming
deformed during assembly.
IMPORTANT. Do not apply heat to the connection
couplings of the heating coil for connection.
Applying heat may deteriorate the soldering of
the copper tube of the heating coil with the boiler
sheet.

INSTALLATION WITH AN OPEN EXPANSION TANK:
Perform the filling with the open expansion tank
through the return hose of the furnace. Do not
complete the filling directly with the network
pressure.
Place the open expansion tank 3 metres over from
the highest point of the radiators.
The installation of a 3-Bar security valve is advisable.
Perform the anti-ice lining to the expansion tank
and venting pipe.
